Collaboration with O’Brother Brewing (Wicklow, Ireland). Keg only.
Style: Red New England Double IPA
They said it couldn’t be done….. that we were mad….”A New England Red DIPA?”….. “It’ll never work!”. Well YellowBelly and the boys from O’Brother ignored those fictional warnings and carried on regardless. The result is so crazy it just might work.
It pours a copper red with a dense white head. ‘Best Red X’ malt provides the colour as well as some aroma, with the sweet, lightly toasted malt battling with the grapefruit character of the Cashmere hop. This battle continues on the tongue with Cashmere calling in his mates Mosaic and Azacca to help, with their weapons of juicy orange and pineapple fruitiness. The malt holds its own though providing a mellow sweetness throughout.
The finish is clean with a hint of peach obtained from the New England yeast strain.
